I’m a Lufkin native who grew up believing no dream was too big, and understood that hard work was the only way to achieve those dreams!
I began teaching dance at a local studio when I was only 12 years old, and started to develop my teaching and choreography business at 17. As Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen 2014, I toured the state at 18 years old to talk about how good decision-making and achievements are directly correlated.
After high school I attended the University of Alabama, where I auditioned for The University of Alabama’s dance department—ranked in the U.S. top 20. I had the opportunity to both accept and award a dance scholarship each semester. I was also taught by distinguished educators from some of the most prestigious dance programs in the world.
I graduated from The University of Alabama after 3 ½ years with a degree in dance and a minor in nutrition. I moved to Orlando, Florida to work at Walt Disney World as a character performer, where I was cast in multiple coveted roles that varied every day. During all of this, I continued to travel back home to Lufkin, Texas to choreograph and teach young students in the community. With my help, these girls have achieved some of their highest scores and awards ever!
My aspirations have never changed; I’ve always wanted to be a professional dancer, and eventually share my love for the art of dance with younger generations by owning a dance studio in downtown Lufkin. My dream of dancing professionally came true as I danced down Main Street USA at Walt Disney World, and now, my goal of owning a studio has become a reality.
With roots in the Italian Renaissance, today’s ballet is multifaceted and requires a dedication and discipline not found in other dance styles. Fluid, graceful movement and long lines make up the core characteristics, while dramatic visuals strengthen the dance’s narrative.
Jazz blends many styles of dance under one umbrella. Uniquely an American creation, it emerged alongside New Orleans jazz music in the early 1900s. Its smooth, grounded movement and isolation of body parts keeps rhythm with “up” and “down” beats in music.
Developed primarily in Europe and the U.S., modern dance was built on experimental and nonconformist values. Its movement style stems from interpretation, rather than technical steps or standards. Gravity also allows dancers to use the weight of their bodies to intensify their performance.
Dance isn’t limited by the restraints of time. Our team gladly welcomes and teaches dancers of ANY age—no matter their past experience.
Learn a new form of self-expression while building a sense of community with fellow artists. The spotlight’s on you!
